This May, Geshe Tenpa will be doing an intensive Takla Mebar teaching and practice.
Takla Mebar as a wrathful deity of red body color with a fearsome face and a third eye, crowned with a skull crown is one of the main figures of the Yungdrung Bön tradition and a wrathful manifestation of Tonpa Shenrab himself. We actually do not see Takla Mebar as a deity that is different from Tonpa Shenrab, he is simply a wrathful form of Tonpa Shenrab that is specially related to giving wisdom and subduing the obstacles and demons we may face during our lives. He is always symbolized with a cutting wheel in one hand and 9 swords in the other one.
Each Sunday we will have a program prepared so that you can learn the concise practice of this deity. The practice of Takla Mebar allows you to transform your negative emotions and poisons into wisdom and balance and, in addition, with constant practice, it gives you conditions to destroy any negative energies from spells and black magic or from demons and other negative spirits or simply the obstacles we face in our daily life with the use of the mantras that the practice of this Yidam (deity) involves.
May 07 – 4 PM to 5 PM – Transmission of the practice of Takla Mebar (Lung)
May 14 – from 4 PM to 5 PM – teaching about the concise practice and a brief explanation of his mantras and what is the use of each one.
